Wmupdate.exe removal in case of proved maliciousness

Wmupdate.exe is a filename that sounds quite trustworthy, especially in such folder as Windows Media Player, System, Windir. The filename is not itself malicious. That makes no sense to blame a name, for the name a cover. In this case, however, it is the name that is essential part of the scam as it refers to updating certain program. Another trick is to load the file into folders commonly used for storing useful system and program files.
Only one virus analyzing company has picked up and found harmful over half million of samples of the above file. Therefore it is strongly recommended to check and, if necessary, remove wmupdate.exe, which indeed is often an executor of malicious payload.
